Overview

Central Pennsylvania Food Bank serves 27 counties, providing access to nutritious food, but they struggled with inefficient processes and a lack of centralized data storage for their services and clients. With the guidance of a Salesforce Consultant at Prolocity, they implemented Salesforce integrated with FormAssembly. This combination improved their ability to gain insights into the populations they serve and enhanced the overall experience for those in need.

Barrier-free access to aid

Challenge

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank (CPFB) identified a need to better serve households that couldn’t make phone calls, including those who are hard of hearing or have language barriers. Moving their SNAP eligibility screening online with multi-lingual options was essential. Initially, CPFB used a third-party form to gather necessary information but encountered issues with manual data transcription and duplicate data entry due to a poor Salesforce integration. They needed a web form with a better Salesforce integration to reduce the data cleanup.

“I asked our IT department, what more can we do to streamline processes? They encouraged me to find a more robust CRM and we landed on Salesforce. Then when we wanted to make our forms more efficient, automated, and accessible, FormAssembly alongside Salesforce was an easy choice.”

Simple Salesforce-integrated web forms

Solution

With FormAssembly, CPFB revolutionized their data management by creating forms and workflows that automatically update their Salesforce CRM. This enhanced automation has significantly improved the accuracy of data gathering, storage, and access.

By utilizing calculable form fields, CPFB built an advanced SNAP benefits eligibility calculator within FormAssembly, replacing a manual process that previously left families waiting days or weeks to determine their eligibility. Now, families receive instant answers (in their language of choice), streamlining the process and providing immediate support.

FormAssembly has also transformed CPFB’s internal referrals for food assistance. Since implementation, the team has saved over 20 hours in manual data entry, dramatically improving efficiency, communication, and the speed at which services are delivered to those in need.

Results

The Central Pennsylvania Food Bank team has increased accessibility to resources like the SNAP benefits calculator, significantly boosting the number of resulting SNAP applications. Their web forms with conditional processing have made it easier for people to apply for assistance without having to pick up the phone, enabling the Food Bank to reach more families in need faster.
